- The Administration Coordinating Committee provides the administrative skills necessary to sustain the mission and continued growth of the parish community and its buildings and grounds.
- Buildings and Grounds
- Provides assistance in the maintenance and repair of the buildings and grounds of the parish. Performs renovation and construction projects that fit within the capabilities of the volunteers.
- Office Volunteers
- Provides assistance to the Parish Office staff.
- Parish Library
- Provides Catholic-based religious books and audio/visual resources for parishioners of all ages to borrow.
- Parish Web Site
- Parish internet web site that contains a variety of informaion about our community of faith.
- Technology Team
- Supports the ongoing use of existing parish technology.
- Affiliated Ministries
- Ministries associated with St. Francis Xavier.
- Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts
- St. Francis Xavier is the charter organization for Pack #776. The pack/troop meets in the Religious Education Building on Thursday evenings.
- Grasshoppers
- Adult and teen men and women who assist on a regular rotating basis with the mowing and trimming of the church grounds and cemetery.
- Knights of Columbus
- A Catholic men’s fraternal organization devoted to the Catholic Church and the local community.
- Snow Bunnies
- Adult and teen men and women to assist with snow removal duties.
- Finance Council
- The Finance Council prepares and maintains the parish budget and supervises expenditures.
- Audit Committee
- Conducts a yearly internal audit. All members are appointed by the pastor.
- Cemetery Committee
- Manages and maintains the grounds and appearance of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.
- Golf Scramble
- Fundraising project in the Fall that supports the financial needs of the parish and encourages parish and community involvement.
- Kroger & Valu Market Gift Cards
- Fund-raising project that supports the financial needs of the parish.
- Meijer Community Rewards Program
- Fund-raising project that supports the financial needs of the parish.
- Walkathon
- Fundraising project in March that supports the financial needs of the parish and encourages parish and community involvement.
- Lifelong Formation/Education
- The Lifelong Formation / Education Coordinating Committee is dedicated to providing life-long Catholic religious education and faith enrichment opportunities for our parish community.
- Adult Faith Formation
- Provides opportunities for adults to enrich and grow in their faith, spirituality and relationships through Bible Studies, small group faith sharing, reflection days as well as retreats, resource materials, speakers and other forums.
- RCIA
- Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is designed to initiate people into the Catholic faith.
- Religious Education
- Provides sacramental preparation for school-aged students preparing for Reconciliation, Eucharist or Confirmation on Wednesday evenings September through May.
- Saturday & Sunday Nursery
- Year-round Nursery for infants to 3 year olds offered during both the Saturday 5 p.m. and the Sunday 9 a.m. Masses.
- Teens Gathered in Faith
- T.G.I.F. meets weekly following the RE schedule to provide ongoing catechesis as well as build community for high school students.
- Vacation Bible School
- A one-week summer VBS for children entering kindergarten through 5th grade.
- Parish Life
- The Parish Life Coordinating Committee addresses the social needs of our parish and provides ministry to families, the sick, the elderly, those with special needs.
- Casserole Ministry
- This committee provides meals on a short-term basis for our parish families dealing with terminal illness or with a catastrophic event in their lives, and for those who are homebound.
- Family Ministry
- Provides parish-wide social opportunities for families of our parish. Current events include an annual Chili Supper and monthly Donut Fellowships.
- Generations of Faith, Family, Friends
- An integrated and comprehensive approach to faith formation that allows the parish to become a community of learning by offering events centered on church life.
- JOY (Just Older Youth)
- This Senior Citizens/Retirees social club for those aged 50 and older gathers the first Tuesday of the month in the Parish Hall for a meeting and a potluck luncheon from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m
- Picnic Committee
- Plans and organizes the annual summer picnic that is held in July. Monthly meetings are held from January – July.
- Rosary Makers
- Members make and repair rosaries, teach others how to make rosaries, and send rosaries to missions.
- St. Francis Xavier Mom's Club
- The St Francis Xavier Moms Club is a parish ministry designed for Catholic mothers with children ages 0 to 5.
- Women's Club
- The St. Francis Xavier Women's Club motto - Serving Christ Through Good Works - and having fun doing it - says what we are about.
- Social Ministry
- The Social Ministry Coordinating Committee continues the mission of Jesus bringing about God’s Kingdom of justice and peace by assisting groups who provide help to the larger community.
- Community Ministries
- Interfaith organization of seven area churches serving various needs of poor individuals or families residing within the Mt. Washington community.
- Coping with Grief
- Monthly support group helping one move through the grieving period and paving the way to reinvestment in life.
- Hunger Awareness Dinner
- This group sponsors a dinner to foster awareness of hunger issues in our area.
- Nursing Home Ministry
- Visit the residents at Green Meadows Nursing Home and Elmcroft Assisted Living facility.
- Prayer Blanket Ministry
- This group makes small blankets for people that need to be covered in prayer.
- St. Vincent de Paul Society
- Provides spiritual and material assistance to those in need who are parishioners or others who live in the Mt. Washington zip code of 40047, while striving to help them learn to help themselves.
- Stewardship
- Promote Stewardship and help manage use of our Time, Talent, and Treasure.
- Worship
- The Worship Coordinating Committee is an umbrella for a variety of ministries. All subcommittees attend to a particular sacramental or liturgical need within the parish community.
- Altar Servers
- Assists the presider in liturgical celebrations. Training is provided.
- Altar Society
- This group dresses the altar seasonally, cares for the linens and vestments, washing, ironing, and repairing articles as needed, and cares for the candles, candle stands, and other sacramentals like the holy water fonts. Training provided.
- Art and Environment
- Committee that plans, designs, arranges and cares for the liturgical environment of the worship space and surrounding grounds.
- Bereavement Meal
- Also needed are people willing to assist with a post funeral meal provided for grieving families and friends.
- Church Cleaning Crews
- Teams who clean our worship space weekly.
- Communion Ministers
- Ministers distribute communion at weekend, daily, and special Masses, including Holy Days, funerals, and other liturgies.
- Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
- Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is from 9:00am until noon on the third Tuesday of the month.
- Funeral Ministry
- This group assists the staff with funeral home vigil services, funeral Masses and a post funeral meal.
- Gift Bearers
- Bring forth the gifts of bread and wine during liturgy celebrations
- Ministers of Hospitality
- This minister acts as host or hostess on behalf of the parish by meeting those attending worship services with a warm and genuine welcome.
- Ministers of the Word
- Proclaim the Word of God for the assembly at Masses and special liturgies.
- Music Ministry
- Adults (High school-aged and older) Lead the assembly in song and provide music at weekend liturgies and other special celebrations under the direction and supervision of the music minister.
- Prayer Tree
- Members offer private prayer for those who have special prayer requests.
